Vintage Jewelry Box/Signed

This is an awesome Silvertoned trinket/ jewelry box lined with red velvety fabric. It's also engraveable. I'm not sure what type of metal it's made of. It's solid and heavy, so I'm thinking solid brass. It's also footed and signed by the designer(in cursive), but the writing is so tiny that I can't make it out. This belonged to my grandmother, and it's in excellent condition for its vintage age! faultless for everyday use. first-class materials and excellent craftsmanship ensure long-lasting durability.
